Coloniality of Power?
Anibal Quijano coined the concept of Coloniality of power to explain the sinister forms of Colonialism after its so-called demise. But why is this concept pertinent to the current war of Israel against Iran? Let me simplify the context of the problematique. Iran signed JCPOA
i.e. Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. It is a long-term agreement reached in 2015 between Iran, the P5+1 (China, France, Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States), and the European Union to limit Iran's nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief. The goal was to ensure that Iran's nuclear program would be exclusively peaceful. USA under Trump pulled out from this agreement and Europe did not fulfill its own duties either but Iran stayed in it. Now that Israel and USA again under Trump waged a war and killed and bombed Iran there is no objections either from UN or EU. But now Germany, England and France going to use Snapback mechanism against Iran. Why? The reason is that Iran has not kept her promises in JCPOA!!!. Wait a minute! Who has kept it at all? This is a prime example of Coloniality of power where the situation is arranged in a fashion that the outcome of all actions are to subdue your subjectivity by reducing you into an object of the will of other. And it seems suprisingly that "other" is the White Male European Master! Is it a coincidence? Anibal Quijano teaches us that there is no coincidence but the spelling out of coloniality of power. Wake up man!!!
