Overview: Alinea International launched a new five-year project in Ukraine: the Support to Ukraine’s Reforms for Governance (SURGe). SURGe is a technical assistance project in Ukraine, funded by Global Affairs Canada.

Main duties:
• lead software development, coordinate developers team efforts and development process among developers
• distribute tasks among developers, evaluate complexity and team effort to implement technical tasks
• conduct code reviews and technical documentation reviews produced by the team
• supervise software testing strategies (including functional, continuous, integration, security and load testing)
• support on development project documentation

Requirements:
• 7+ years of experience in engineering playing developer roles
• 3+ years of experience playing a team or tech lead role
• deep knowledge of PHP 7+ / PHP 8+
• strong experience with Symphony/Yii2/Laravel framework
• strong experience with MySQL (Oracle DB will be the advantage)
• experience in JavaScript, CSS and Vue.js (Python will be the advantage)
• strong knowledge and experience with CI/CD process
• experience in writing Unit tests (API integration will be the advantage)
• excellent command of English, both written and speaking skills

Conditions:
• full-time
• remote position or work in Kyiv
• only for Ukrainian residents
• duration of the contract — 1 year (with a possibility of extensions)
• salary: 4500-5000 $

Telegram auto-delete message, expiring invites, and more

elegram is updating its messaging app with options for auto-deleting messages, expiring invite links, and new unlimited groups, the company shared in a blog post. Much like Signal, Telegram received a burst of new users in the confusion over WhatsApp’s privacy policy and now the company is adopting features that were already part of its competitors’ apps, features which offer more security and privacy. Auto-deleting messages were already possible in Telegram’s encrypted Secret Chats, but this new update for iOS and Android adds the option to make messages disappear in any kind of chat. Auto-delete can be enabled inside of chats, and set to delete either 24 hours or seven days after messages are sent. Auto-delete won’t remove every message though; if a message was sent before the feature was turned on, it’ll stick around. Telegram’s competitors have had similar features: WhatsApp introduced a feature in 2020 and Signal has had disappearing messages since at least 2016.
