Only if ... vs  If...

🟣 به کاربرد کاما و inversion بعد از only if دقت کنید:

💢 If you arrive on time, you will get a seat. (comma needed)

This is because introductory "if" clauses are generally followed by a comma before the main clause.

Compare this to:

💢 Only if you arrive on time will you get a seat. (no comma needed)

So essentially, "only if" forces a unique sentence structure, while "if" behaves like most conditional phrases in English.

حالا به مثالهای زیر دقت کنید :

🟣 1. Using "if" (regular conditional, comma needed)

💢 If you work hard, you will succeed.
(General condition: success is likely if effort is made.)

💢 If she studies, she will pass the test.
(Studying increases the chance of passing.)

🟣 2. Using "only if" (strong restriction, inversion, no comma)

💢 Only if you work hard will you succeed.
Success is possible only with hard work.)

💢 Only if she studies will she pass the test.
(Passing depends exclusively on studying.)

Key Differences

💢 If expresses a general condition and typically uses a comma.

💢 Only if imposes a strict condition and requires inversion.
