به دو کاربرد زیبای این عبارت توجه کنید:

✅ used when you are saying the opposite of what you really mean SYN hardly:

🔶 وقتی می خواهیم منظور مخالف  خود را نسبت به جمله قبلی بیان کنیم:

💢 I wouldn’t bother asking Dave – he’s not exactly Einstein (=he is stupid).
نیازی نمی بینم از دیو بپرسم- اونکه انشتین نیست.

💢 He wasn't exactly pleased to see us—in fact he refused to open the door.
اصلن هم از دیدنمون خوشحال نشد.در واقع حاضر نشد در رو باز کنه.

💢 It's not exactly beautiful, is it? (= it's ugly)
همچین قشنگ هم نیست، مگه نه؟

✅ used when you are correcting something that somebody has said

🔶 وقتی بخواهیم  توضیح کسی را اصلاح کنیم:

💢 ‘So he told you you'd got the job?’ ‘Not exactly, but he said they were impressed with me.’
«پس بهت گفت که کار رو گرفتی؟» «نه دقیقاً، اما گفت که از من خوششون اومده. »

💢 You hate Lee, don’t you?’ ‘Not exactly. I just think he’s a bit annoying, that’s all.
«تو از لی متنفر هستی، مگه نه؟» «نه دقیقاً. فقط فکر می‌کنم او یه ذره رو اعصابه، همین.»
