Happy International Transgender Day of Visibility!

The F_Streik is in favour of intersectional queer feminism. We want a world in which all forms of oppression are eliminated and in which all people can express their gender freely and without fear of discrimination or violence.
We stand in solidarity with every single trans* person and with the community. This day reminds us to recognizing the diversity of identities
while recognising the challenges and discrimination faced by trans* people worldwide. Let's use this day as an opportunity to amplify the voices of trans* people, to learn from them for a future of true equality and acceptance for all!

Transphobia is not feminism
Feminism means joining forces, taking courage and fighting together against patriarchal structures. Excluding minorities has never made a movement stronger. In the past, lesbians were excluded from the feminist movement because they did not conform to the image of womanhood, as were workers and BIPoC.
Trans-exclusive "feminism" works with an inaccurate and biologistic outdated understanding of gender and fails to consider intersecting oppressions. This understanding cements exclusion and marginalisation and ultimately prevents the broader goals of gender equality and liberation for all.

The parallels between the exclusionary mindset of trans-exclusionary "feminism" and other historical exclusions emphasise the importance of incorporating intersectionality and inclusivity into feminist activism in order to truly challenge systems of oppression and achieve social justice for all.
Therefore, trans* exclusive "feminism" is NOT feminism and we would like to use the term FART (feminism appropriating radical transphobes) instead of TERF.

Attack on 8 March
Content Note: Trans-phobic violence
During this year's demonstration on the 8th of March, a trans-phobic person attacked someone at our demonstration. We are shocked and condemn the attack in the strongest possible terms! The person made trans-hostile remarks and physically attacked a person from the demonstration. The attack fits in seamlessly with far too many harassments and physical but also political attacks on trans* people and their rights that we have to witness worldwide.
We stand in solidarity with all those affected by trans-hostile violence and continue to fight for equal rights for all people!

A speech by Trans*Recht e.V. on the situation in Bremen can be found here on our homepage.https://fstreikbremen.noblogs.org/8-marz-2024/redebeitrage-8-marz/redebeitrag-trans-recht/
