I wrote this poem for all the moms who are no longer with us.

Momma's Love

Pulled from otherworld to the light
In her womb so warm
Hours of pain through she fights
Body worn and torn

Exhausted breaths, tears of love
First time she sees our face
Swears an oath to Gods above
Love's truest warm embrace

Pitter patter, little feet
We grow as time blows by
She ensures our clothes are neat
Comforts when we cry

She blinks once, we start to talk
Again we sleep alone
She blinks thrice, we start to walk
Soon we leave her home

Momma looks on at her boys
As they grow to men
She cherishes our old toys
And remembers way back when

She sits so proud as we wed
Loves grandkids as her own
Makes sure we all stay fed
And love is all we're shown

But father time has his way
Life is precious short
Soon mom begins to grey
And is called to heaven's court

Her whole life she gives her heart
And gives her damnedest try
That's why life's hardest part
Is when we have to say goodbye
