Celtiberian/Lusitanian Goddess Nabia/Navia

The goddess resides in the waters. There are rivers and other sites of water where her name or similar names can be found in the Iberian Peninsula: Navea River ( in Orense), Navia River (in Lugo and Asturias), Navia Fountain (in Luarca) and Lagoons of Navianos (in Zamora). Amongst the Celts, the waters were the path to the Otherworld which Nabia translates to La Barquera (The Boatgirl, literally translated). She was the one in charge of taking the souls of the dead ones to the Otherworld. She also had the attributes of fertility and vegetation. The Goddess Nabia is married to the God Coronus.
