Mauricio Pochettino:

"It was a difficult game, it's always tough against a team who are doing a fantastic season. Today for them was a party because they started the game being sure they would be in the Premier League next year."

"We started controlling the game but conceded in a way we should never concede. The second half was tough but I think it's an important victory for us."

"The most important thing is the three points but we didn't really replicate the performance from previous games against Tottenham and West Ham. If you remember Sheffield United and Burnley, we have struggled against this type of team"

On his substitutions:

"I think today the players that came off the bench had a real impact."

On Reece James:

"He is unlucky because we are at the end of the season and there are only two games less. He can add his quality and experience."

On Chelsea's chances of finishing in a European place:

"I hope yes, but there are still two big games."

On his comments over his Chelsea future:

"I had an honest conversation in the press conference. To clarify, if the owner is happy with my job we can continue."

"I am always a coach who is thinking long term. All departments must be happy for us to be a good team to compete. I still have one more year in my contract and I am thinking to be here."

Credit where it’s due… today’s subs were top top. If we can all agree the subs changed the game. It’s much easier when the bench isn’t full of 17 and 18 year olds. Kudos to Mauricio Pochettino!
Chelsea have now lost one league game in three months, the 5-0 defeat to Arsenal.
🚨 Chelsea are happy with the team’s recent performances, but Pochettino knows any decision is always going to be made close to the end of the season. This is something the club has always confirmed, even in difficult moments, and it remains the same now.

🚨 Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo were named as our joint Player of the Match from our win over Nottingham Forest, as voted for by fans on the Official Chelsea App.
A coach once told me, finishing is easy to learn but getting into finishing positions is mostly natural ability and tough to teach.

You can say some strikers are wasteful but some, who are clinical don't even have the talent to make chances, to know where the ball is going to drop to get themselves big chances to score frequently.

So, I have no issues with Jackson. He gets chances, misses some and scores some. He will improve his finishing but he already has the hard part.

Harvey Elliot: "I was at a few clubs when I was younger. I was at Chelsea when I was a kid, and they released me because they said I was too small. And then I was just playing with my friends for a year, like Sunday League, [when I was] 11, 12."

Elliot: "I remember them saying that technically I was one of the best in the group, but I was too small. I don’t think I’ve felt anything like that in my football career so far in terms of how I felt after they said that."
