Highlights 🧵:

1/ Runes, a new protocol for issuing fungible tokens on the Bitcoin network, has accounted for 40 to 80% of the Bitcoin transactions since its launch on April 20th. Much of this momentum came from market participants' speculation on Runes meme coins, which resulted in heightened network fees and, consequently, a notable increase in miner revenue. As the initial FOMO gradually subsides, it remains to be seen whether user interest in Runes will sustain in the coming months.

2/ Morgan Stanley is reportedly preparing to allow its brokers to recommend spot BTC ETFs to clients, with established risk criteria and trading limits. Separately, Google Cloud has announced its Web3 Portal, providing blockchain datasets and tools for developers.

3/ Binance has announced BounceBit as its first Megadrop project. Meanwhile, Metis has launched phase 2 of its decentralized sequencer upgrade, introducing features like transactions pools, sequencer mining, and more.
