Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey has unveiled Bitchat, a messenger that works without the Internet or servers. It creates a mesh network directly between smartphones via Bluetooth, fully encrypts correspondence and does not require registration or a phone number
Each device in the network becomes a node for transmitting messages, thanks to which they reach the recipient without connecting to the infrastructure. Only text chats are available for now, but in the future, media and Wi-Fi support will appear. You can test it on iOS via TestFlight, an Android version is in development
