When all the stars burn out in this Universe, there will be only black holes remaining. Those will be the true dark ages of the world. And very cold at that. So cold that the rate of calculating, thus the rate of processing information, thus the rate of thinking will increase by many magnitudes compared to whatever is available while the stars burn. There might be barely enough time then, for the sentients who have lived through that future, to outsmart the looming equilibrium of thermodynamics, i.e. the death of the universe. Suppose, those surviving sentients will be the mankind…
