Over years of partaking in MMA, and owning a gym I always was fascinated by what keeps people coming in to partake in what is considered to be scary or taboo in today's world. It was something I pondered for years as I took and gave lumps with people I respected and felt a bond with. One day I reached an answer. MMA helps to put things into perspective in a way that other hobbies, and degenerate behaviors cannot.

When partaking in unarmed combat there are no short cuts or excuses. You will win or lose based off your ability, and how much work you put in. This has an ability to bring someone down to earth in a crashing way. You become aware of the fragility of the human body, and humbled by it. Years have gone by and I've seen countless people from all walks of life re-evaluate what is important slowly over time. In doing so, they realize that the lies and diseases of modernity are simply not important. What matters is what you are capable of, when the chips are down.
