🕷️ Part of the U. S. is on high alert for an invasion of giant venomous spiders with females boasting 4-inch-long legs that can ‘parachute’ through the air.

New Jersey Pest Control earlier this year issued a warning about the incoming Joro spiders, stating they will be “hard to miss” as females boast a leg span of up to 4 inches and are recognised by their striking yellow and grey bodies.

Reports have emerged of Joro spiders being spotted across a large portion of the eastern U. S, including states such as Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, the Carolinas, Tennessee, Kentucky Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and Ohio. New York appears to be “right in the middle of where they like to be,” according to University of Georgia researcher Andy Davis, who spoke to The New York Times in December.

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio (AP) — A 3-year-old boy was fatally stabbed by a woman as he sat in a grocery cart in a supermarket parking lot. Investigators said Tuesday that they believe it was a random attack.
The boy’s mother also was stabbed, but her injuries were not life-threatening, said Sgt. Matt Beck, a detective with North Olmsted police.
Officers arrested 32-year-old Bionca Ellis, of Cleveland, while she was walking away from the scene with a knife in her hand on Monday, police said. She was being held on a charge of aggravated murder.
Ellis was inside the Giant Eagle grocery when she saw the boy and his mother near the front of the store and then followed them into the parking lot in North Olmsted, a Cleveland suburb, Beck said.
The boy’s mother was about to load her groceries into her vehicle when Ellis ran at them with a knife, stabbing both of them, police said. The boy later died at a hospital.
The county medical examiner identified the boy as 3-year-old Julian Wood. His mother, Margot Wood, was treated at a hospital, police said. Investigators said Ellis had no known previous interactions with the mother and her son.
Calls to a listing for Ellis went unanswered Tuesday. It was not clear whether she has an attorney.

Disturbing footage shows a terrified autistic 19-year-old desperately asking cops to listen to him before he repeatedly slammed his head on a cell door and died.

Isaiah Trammell, was taunted, belittled and threatened by nine guards as he begged for his medication at the Montgomery County Jail in Ohio. He was taken there after he was arrested following a mental health episode in March, 2023.

After fatally-injuring himself, he was taken to a hospital where he later died.

In surveillance videos obtained by The Columbus Dispatch, officers are seen telling Trammell he was ‘ridiculous,’ ‘embarrassing’ and ‘acting like an a**.’

He was strapped into a restraint chair twice and threatened a third time with severe consequences if he did not calm down.

But Trammell responded to the threats by banging his head on the cell door and screaming: ‘Let me out’

Brazil’s 2,000-member Marubo tribe has been left bitterly divided by the arrival of the Tesla founder’s Starlink service nine months ago, which connected the remote rainforest community along the Ituí River to the web for the first time.

“When it arrived, everyone was happy,” Tsainama Marubo, 73, told The New York Times.
“But now, things have gotten worse. Young people have gotten lazy because of the internet, they’re learning the ways of the white people.”
The Marubo are a chaste tribe, who even frown upon kissing in public — but Alfredo Marubo (all Marubo use the same last name) said he is anxious that the arrival of the service, which delivers super-fast internet to far-flung corners of the planet and has been billed as a game-changer by Musk, could upend standards of decorum.
Alfredo said many young Marubo men have been sharing porn videos in group chats and he has already observed more “aggressive sexual behavior” in some of them.
“We’re worried young people are going to want to try it,” he said of the kinky sex acts they’ve suddenly been exposed to on screen.
“Everyone is so connected that sometimes they don’t even talk to their own family.”
