Schweini is beloved by Bayern fans, arguably being one of the best players ever in his position. His quality and experience are what made it all the more baffling that, following José Mourinho’s appointment at <a href="https://thebusbybabe.sbnation.com">Manchester United</a>, the 2013 German Player of The Year was removed from United’s first team for no real reason.Below is Schweinsteiger’s retelling of his experience under Mourinho while at Manchester United as shared on Sky Bet’s Overlap Podcast (via <a href="https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/39966890/mourinho-banned-man-utd-dressing-room-schweinsteiger">ESPN</a>):It was [preseason] 2016 and I was with the German national team, we went far in the competition [Euros] reaching the semifinals, so I stepped in a little later [at United] and the team were in the U.S. for a preseason tour. Yes, completely [kicked me out of the first team dressing room], so I had to ask him [Murtough] to bring me my cleats and training gear. I asked him who I was training with, and he said there was the U16 team, so I went and trained with the U16.I asked him whether I could talk to the manager in the afternoon, so when I came back from training with the under 16s, where I trained so bad because I didn’t know what was going on or it was a joke, I then had a meeting with him [José Mourinho] in the afternoon. He explained to me that he didn’t see me happy here at United because when I had my injury, I did my rehab with German doctors, spending time in Germany.Of course, I came back to United and was in contact with doctors and watched the games — I had a conversation with Louis van Gaal when he was coach, and he said to come on the weekends to United and remain in contact with the doctors, they needed me fit and there was an <a href="http://www.sbnation.com/fa-cup">FA Cup</a> final which I almost played. That was our agreement and I kept to it. For me, I just wanted to get healthy and wanted to be able to play — I stuck to the agreement with Louis van Gaal but obviously the board thought a little differently about that.It was just me [that got moved to the youth dressing room]. Price valuation is around €20m with one year left on his contract. According to a report from HITC, Ralf Rangnick might already have two transfer requests if he becomes the head coach at Bayern Munich — FC Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong and Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong: Rangnick is now discussing the project and he wants to have some input into potential incomings and HITC sources have suggested that that he has put forward two players he likes.As it happens, they are two players that Bayern already like and are on their radar – they are Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong and Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong – both of whom could very well move this summer.For several transfer windows, de Jong was a name heavily linked with Manchester United, but a move didn’t transpire. And now, the Dutch midfielder’s current deal at the Non Camp expires in 2026, with his current manager Xavi Hernandez deciding to stay after previously confirming that he was going to leave in the summer.Whilst Frimpong is now one of the most highly sought-after fullbacks in European football after playing a key role in Leverkusen’s historic Bundesliga title.Both De Jong and Frimpong have already been linked to Bayern Munich in the past — and in recent weeks.
